2025 Alpine Info Meeting

The 2025 Alpine Info Meeting will take place Thursday, October 23 from 7-8 p.m. at CHS West Learning Commons. This meeting is for interested and returning student-athletes and families. 

Spring Lake Park High School is in a co-op with Centennial High School to offer our students in grades 7-12 the chance to be a part of CSLP Alpine, and the sport of alpine ski racing! CSLP Alpine is a competitive ski team that offers both Varsity and Junior Varsity levels of competition. Fast is fun!

What you need to know about this season

  • Centennial is the host school
  • Student athletes should have some alpine skiing experience, and be able to ski down green circles or blue square ski runs
  • Alpine Skiing is open to students in grades 7-12, boys & girls
  • Students are responsible for purchasing their own ski passes from Wild Mountain
  • Students must use their own ski equipment
  • Cost is $200 + ski pass to Wild Mountain
  • For the bulk of the season, the Alpine team trains on Mondays and Tuesdays at Wild Mountain Ski Area and picks up from the following schools – Westwood Middle School at 2:40 p.m., Spring Lake Park High School at 2:55 p.m., Centennial High School at 3:25 p.m. On race days the pickup times are, Westwood Middle School at 12:45 p.m., Spring Lake Park High School at 1:10 p.m., Centennial High School at 1:30 p.m., and Centennial Middle School at 1:45 p.m. The bus then returns only to Centennial High School after practice and races at approximately 9-9:15 p.m. each night.

  • Season Begins: Monday, November 10
  • Season Ends: Wednesday, February 11
  • Practices: Monday / Tuesday / Thursday evening
    • Detailed schedule will be provided at Alpine Info Meeting 
  • NWSC Races: Thursday nights at Wild Mountain and Trollhaugen ski areas
  • Invite races: Varsity only – Wild Mountain Invite, MLK Invite, Pioneer Invitational
  • Section 7 Alpine Championships: Tuesday, February 3, Giants Ridge
  • MSHSL Alpine State Championship: Tuesday, February 10, Giants Ridge

Where we go 

  • Home hill / train at Wild Mountain
  • Compete in the NWSC at Wild & Trollhaugen
  • Compete in Section 7 at Giants Ridge
  • State Championship at Giants Ridge

How we get there

Students take a coach bus that picks up from all represented schools.

  • Required
    • Alpine skis & bindings, ski boots, and poles
    • Helmet
    • Goggles
    • Cold weather gear based on weather conditions
  • Optional: 
    • Shin guards
    • Pole guards
    • Helmet chin guard 
    • Speed Suit
