Being involved helps you build your community. Extracurriculars give you a variety of things to do and help you build discipline. You'll also learn skills like leadership, teamwork, empathy and resilience.

Benjamin poses with a trumpet in front of the panther wall

I joined jazz band in sophomore year and had opportunities to play incredible pieces and to learn how to improvise. I had an amazing time making music with my unbelievably talented peers.

Activities help create a connection to your building, and certainly allows for relationships with people other than your teachers. Having a small town feel is special here and part of that is getting involved in the opportunities in your community.

A girl in a Panther Mentors shirt tours new students in the hallway

I believe throughout my four years here, we have built a strong sense of community among students. Our teachers and coaches really seem to care about us and find ways to give us leadership opportunities and a chance to make a difference. They gave me opportunities to develop as a leader.

A firefighter intern stands in front of the OEC ambulance at the station

Students can explore interests and develop leadership through various extracurricular activities and clubs. For me, that's been with OEC (Opportunities in Emergency Care). Our strong community involvement shows our commitment to giving back. That is what makes me Panther Proud.

Athletics and Activities are an integral part of the student experience at Spring Lake Park High School. They foster teamwork, leadership, and personal growth beyond the classroom. They empower students to discover their passions, build lifelong skills, and create a well-rounded educational experience that prepares them for success in the future.
